_MW3 Overview
_Get modern warfare 3 free - In the Pantheon of gaming greatness, few outperform the gaming titan that is the Call of Duty franchise. Now though, a new game has graced our disc trays, whisking us away on an brand new multiplayer experience. In the midst of a controversy about its originality, Modern Warfare 3 is ready to impress, or disappoint. You can even get MW3 free.
Get modern warfare 3 free - _The new installment picks up the pieces of MW2 in many ways: the perk system is the same, equipment counts in your grenade slot, and the fast paced gameplay returns with new ferocity. However, do not mistake Modern Warfare 3 for a clone of its brother, but instead a reimagining and reworking of its kin. While the game does borrow much from its ancestors, specifically Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2, it is to be expected. When a game franchise as successful as Call of Duty makes a game, they are not going to radically change the formula and chance ruining the series good name. Regardless, there are plenty of new features here for the fan boy faithful, or newcomers to the series to enjoy. Perhaps the most immediately noticeable differences are in the map layouts. Gone are the overly open vistas of its predecessor, in favor of almost sardine-like cramped maps. While these maps sometimes feel forced, overall they make for a much more enjoyable experience than the maps of previous titles.Next of the new features is the prestige shop, where players can earn prestige tokens by leveling up their soldier to the maximum rank and choosing to be reset with the benefit of a token and a new badge next to the level number. The system is fairly straightforward: tokens are used to unlock gear to carry throughout the rest of the “prestiges,” gain double experience for weapons or character leveling, and even unlock special titles and emblems. Finally, there is the Call of Duty Elite integration. Elite is essentially a stat tracking service that keeps files of game records, heat maps, and custom class slots, allowing subscribers to alter classes, improve your skills, and even join clans to rank up and gain double experience points. Elite is an expansive program that is still growing, and for those who are die hard enthusiasts of the series, will make the experience that much more enjoyable. Being able to log on while signed in on Xbox Live is a great feature, and having concrete evidence of victories make it much easier to gloat to friends… or vice versa.
But, while all of this is well and good, Call of Duty players often buy the game for the multiplayer gameplay, and here is where the game either makes or breaks the experience for the player.
To get the flaws out of the way first, the spawn system is terrible. This has been an issue in every Call of Duty game, but here it is just unacceptable. In certain game modes players will find themselves respawning right next to the enemy, on top of a claymore or other explosive, next to an objective that is being bombarded with grenades, and more. This is a very frustrating aspect of the game, but can be overlooked since it is inevitable. Another mental misstep is the hit detection system, yet another long running flaw of the series. The hit detection may be most notable with snipers, where players can clearly headshot an enemy, only to be killed shortly after due to the shot not registering and the enemy quickly unloading on them. Some may get used to them, but these problems are enough to deter newcomers from the game and potentially the franchise, so players are left waiting for these to be addressed in a patch.
Despite these flaws, the overall tone of the game makes for a great experience. The maps are new and exciting, offering a multitude of places to find cover, snipe, and even alternative routes to a flag or bombsite. They also offer extremely fast paced gameplay, something that is a signature for the series, and is exemplified here. Another resounding success is the leveling system, which is easily the best of the series. Players progress at a steady rate, unlocking gear like weapons, explosives, and sights at a consistent rate, making the experience rarely feel stale or uninviting.
It is this sense of accomplishment and familiarity that makes the game stand out. When talking value for money, the Call of Duty franchise is always on the tip of the tongue, providing hundreds of hours of entertainment, and a few of frustration, for a mere sixty dollars.
The attention to detail is phenomenal, with hundreds of titles and emblems, plenty of gun camouflages, seemingly endless challenges, and more. The game provides an immersive experience that is hard to shake out of.
Overall, MW3’s multiplayer proves to be an enjoyable experience for the battle hardened, but may deter some new gamers from the series with its glitches. For a game that is released every year, Modern Warfare 3 certainly impresses.
